2020 Study Conference

Cancelled Conference 12x450

An update from LTS about COVID-19 and the 2020 Study Conference

- In light of developments around COVID-19, we announce the decision to cancel our 2020 Study Conference set for April 28-30. There will be a future event to honour the transition from the current seminary building to our new home in the St. Andrew’s College building. We are also postponing the “Decolonizing Theology,” lecture which will be rescheduled for a later date.

Although this decision is a disappointing one, we feel that protecting the health and well-being of all our staff, faculty, students, supporters, alumni and communities is of utmost importance. God bless you all as you help to protect and support the elderly and more vulnerable members of society by practicing social distancing.

Welcome to the Lutheran Theological Seminary 2020 Study Conference

This year’s conference will consist of a series of sessions that study the past, present, and future of both the church and the seminary and will explore the changes surrounding us. We have 4 seperate sessions with theological leaders in the church today to guide us through the past and what the future may hold for faith. This will all culminate in an incredible panel discussion with 4 more leaders in the church today. Throughout will be an emotional journey as we say good-bye to seminary building of the past and hello to a bright new future of ecumenical education.

We are extending a special invitation to all LTS friends and alumni to come to the 2020 Study Conference. This year's conference will be a time of learning and reminiscing as we take leave of the Lutheran Theological Seminary building.

Daily Worship will be led by Rev. Dr. Ann Salmon and many others to commemorate the history of LTS, the dorms, offices, building and chapel concluding with a final walk to our new location at St. Andrews College. This will be a very emotional moment for many as we say good-bye to the building.

Please plan to attend the Celebration Dinner on Wednesday evening. This will be a time to tell your LTS stories, share adventures and talk about your association with LTS. The Celebration Dinner will also offer the opportunity to imagine what our future with our STU partners could hold. Come and enjoy an evening of comradery and surprises.
