Throughout this academic year, we will be co-hosting ‘A Year of Intention’, a series of four online events celebrating LTS’s commitment to being a Reconciling in Christ school. We will be joined in this series by St. Andrew’s College, who will be celebrating their commitment to being an Affirming Ministry.
These events will focus upon sexual orientation and gender identity, exploring new ways to be in solidarity and celebration with LGBTQIA2S communities in the church and beyond.
On Monday, November 27th, from 7-8 CST, Rev. Dr. Kayko Driedger Hesslein, William Hordern Professor of Systematic Theology at Lutheran Theological Seminary, will give a lecture titled, “Queer Christology”.
Professor Driedger Hesslein will introduce some of the different christologies emerging from queer theologians, speaking about what makes queer theology distinct and how it can help us to embrace the life-giving work of Christ in new ways.

LTS announces an Art Auction of paintings by John Dyck, a welcome gift from alumnus Pastor Eric Dyck (LTS class of 1984). Proceeds will be directed towards LTS’s Grace Fund for Faculty. Pastor Eric is motivated to share this legacy of his father’s paintings with the seminary, knowing the funds raised will aid future ministry.
These works will be offered in the ‘Affordable Art Auction’, an online art auction hosted by the Saskatchewan Network for Art Collecting (SKNAC) – with all opening bids under $100.
The online bidding begins Thursday, November 9 and will close on Sunday, December 3, at the SKNAC dedicated auction site.
